The Alisal collects information about you from the following sources:

We only process your personal data where applicable law permits or requires it, including where 
the processing is necessary for the performance of our employment relationship or contract with

We will only disclose your personal data to third parties where required by law or to our employees, contractors, designated agents, or third-party service providers who require such information to assist us with administering the employment relationship with you, including third-party service providers who provide services to us or on our behalf. Third-party service providers may include, but are not limited to, payroll processors, benefits administration providers, and data storage or hosting providers. These third-party service providers may be located outside of California. We require all our third-party service providers, by written contract, to implement appropriate security measures to protect your personal data consistent with our policies and any data security obligations applicable to us as your employer. Currently, we only share your information with some or all of the following third-party entities: ADP (our payroll services contractor), insurance companies and administrators which provide or offer coverage to you or the Alisal, our Workers’ Compensation insurance carries and administrators, California and federal agencies such as the IRS, FTB, ICE and EDD, law enforcement agencies, and businesses that provide professional services to the Alisal such as law firms, accounting firms, marketing firms, and other business consultants.

Sharing of Personal Information

The Alisal does not sell your personal information.

Selling of Personal Information

The Alisal retains the information about employees during the period of employment and for 
four years after employment ends and about unhired applicants for employment for four years 
after the decision not to hire the applicant is made, unless a shorter or longer period is required 
by California or Federal law.

Data Retention

It is important that the personal data we hold about you is accurate and current. Please keep us informed if your personal data changes during your employment. By law, you may have the right to request access to, correct, and delete the personal data that we hold about you, subject to all retention laws under the applicable banking laws and regulations governed by various banking regulatory agencies. We may request specific information from you to confirm your identity in order to process your right to access, correct and delete your personal data. Applicable law may allow or require us to refuse to provide you with access to some or all of the personal data that we hold about you, or we may have destroyed, deleted, or made your personal data anonymous in accordance with our record retention obligations and practices. If we cannot comply with your request, we will inform you of the reasons why, subject to any legal or regulatory restrictions.

We have many parking spots around the Ranch that are reserved just for our Signature Club members. Since we want to be sure these spots are only used by members, we ask that you display your Member Parking Permit prominently when using one of these spots. Get your permit, by completing a quick registration form.

Covid-19 Policy

Please inform us of any medical conditions or special needs prior to your treatment. If you are pregnant or have high blood pressure, avoid any heat treatments. Skin care procedures have specific contraindications related to pregnancy and prescription drugs.

Health Considerations

Deep work is not administered and you must be past your first trimester. Heat treatments, reflexology, wraps and scrubs are not advised for mothers-to-be.

Gratuities are not included in the price of spa treatments or gift cards.

Dress comfortably and remove jewelry before visiting the Spa. We encourage guests to leave valuable items in their suites or at home. The Spa is not responsible for lost or stolen items.

Spa Attire

Guests under the age of 18 require parental consent and parents must remain in the Spa for the duration of the service. Guests under the age of 14 are not permitted.

Age Requirement

I. Room Cancellation Policy
A two-night advance deposit is due at time of booking to guarantee all reservations. This deposit is refundable, minus a 10% of deposit transaction fee per room, if canceled at least 60 days prior to your scheduled arrival date. Your full deposit amount is non-refundable for cancellations or changes made within 60 days prior to your arrival, non-arrivals, or early departures. Minimum night stay restriction will apply for weekends and holidays. Because of our small size, cancellations or rescheduling of dates affect us significantly. A last-minute cancellation or date change gives us little chance of filling the space. For this reason, we uphold a strict cancellation policy. We would highly recommend purchasing trip insurance from your local travel agent or your insurance provider.
II. Spa &amp; Activity Cancellations
If you cancel an activity or spa appointment, please do so 24 hours in advance in order to avoid a charge.

Cancellation and No-Show Policy

We are proud to have earned the California Hotel &amp; Lodging Association CLEAN + SAFE Certification as our commitment and dedication to providing a clean and safe visit at the Ranch. The CLEAN + SAFE certification is certifying we completed the checklist provided by the California Hotel &amp; Lodging Association and reviewed the guide which provided ideas and concepts for guest and employee considerations, workplace cleaning and safety suggestions, discussion of the possible guest experience, and\finally, cleaning guidance.

At Alisal Ranch, we care deeply about our family of guests, members, employees, and our community. This plan presents what we will do to keep everyone as safe as possible. In addition to the plan below, each operating department has its own customized set of procedures. We have relied on the best available science and sanitization methods to develop our plans, which we will continue to refine and update as additional information becomes available.
Public Spaces and Communal Areas: The frequency of cleaning and sanitizing has been increased in all public spaces with an emphasis on frequent contact surfaces including, but not limited to, front desk check-in counters, door handles, public bathrooms, room keys, gym equipment, dining surfaces, and seating areas.
Guest Rooms: Industry-leading cleaning and sanitizing protocols are used to clean guest rooms, with attention paid to high-touch items, including toilet seats and handles, door and furniture handles, water faucet handles, nightstands, light switches, temperature control panels, alarm clocks, luggage racks, and flooring. All bed linen and laundry will be changed daily and continue to be washed at a high temperature and in accordance with CDC guidelines.
Back of House: In the spaces where associates work “behind the scenes,” there is an increased frequency of cleaning with a focus on high-touch areas.
Shared Equipment: Shared tools and equipment will be sanitized before, during, and after each shift or anytime the equipment is transferred to a new employee. This includes phones, radios, computers, and other communication devices, payment terminals, kitchen implements, engineering tools, keys, timeclocks, and all other direct contact items used throughout Alisal Ranch.
Food &amp; Beverage: Minimal items will be placed on guest tables to allow for effective disinfection between each guest, including condiments, silverware, glassware, napkins, etc.
Responding to Potential Illnesses 
The General Manager, Director of Housekeeping, and the Safety &amp; Security Manager are to be notified immediately of ANY sick guest(s). If the manager is not available, then any Front Desk personnel should be informed.

Guest &amp; Employee Health Concerns. Our staff has been given clear instructions on how to respond swiftly and report any and all presumed illnesses. Employees are instructed to stay home if they any symptoms consistent with COVID-19 and/or if they do not feel well enough to work. We have two complimentary laundry facilities available for guests. Complimentary detergent is available in the laundry rooms. Same-day professional laundry and dry-cleaning service may be arranged by contacting the Front Office. Please place garments in the laundry bag located in your closet and bring to the Front Office before 10 a.m., Monday-Friday (excluding holidays). Garments will be returned to your room by 6 p.m.

Are there laundry facilities?

At Alisal Ranch, we encourage you to wear whatever you find comfortable for your planned activities throughout the day. Whether it is a polo shirt for golf, cowboy boots for riding, or a swimsuit cover up as you head over to the pool. We are country casual, so you will fit right in! The one exception is dinner attire. Since the opening of the Ranch in 1946, it has been a tradition to dress up for dinner (think “country formal”). Gentleman 16 years and older are required to wear a sport coat and collared shirt and ladies wear a dress, or a blouse with nice jeans.

Is there a dress code at the Alisal?

Average temperatures vary throughout the seasons, but it is important to know that we have a large variance in temperature in the day versus the evening (one of the reasons such amazing wine is grown here in the Santa Ynez Valley.) If it’s not summer, plan on bringing a sweater or light jacket for the mornings. In the colder months, we do recommend that you pack layers and a warm jacket.
For horseback riding you will want to wear long pants, preferably jeans, and boots. (Tennis shoes are ok, but boots with a small heel is preferred). Helmets are provided.
The Golf Course dress code does not allow jeans. Golf or tennis shoes, and a polo shirt required.
Dress code for dinner requires a jacket for gentleman over 16, no ripped jeans, or shorts.

Is there wine tasting nearby?

Our Private Lake is a shimmering jewel tucked into the hills and is only accessible by our scheduled Lake Shuttle trips. (Hours do vary, so please refer to your Ranch Daily to see the exact shuttle time). Because we are an honest-to-goodness working cattle ranch, cows are grazing and horseback rides are going throughout the day (near the road) – so it is not safe to walk, bike, or drive to the Lake on your own. If you head up to the lake, expect to have fun! There is fishing (largemouth bass and bluegill) either with a spin rod or fly rod. You can cast from the dock, take a boat out on your own, or hire one of our awesome guides. Explore the lake by paddle-board, canoe, pedal boat, or kayak. We also offer archery and air rifle classes at Alisal Lake.

How do I get to the lake and what can you do there?

If you have a hankerin’ to hit the links, you’re in luck! We have two Championship Golf Courses – the River Course and the Ranch Course. The River Course is open to the public and the Ranch Course is private to guests and members. Be sure to view photos and video of our courses.

We want your stay at Alisal Ranch to feel like home, only more relaxing. Each guest room has standard in-room amenities like shampoos/conditioners, blow dryer, fan, iron, a safe, and ironing board. Each room has a mini fridge, stocked with an assortment of beverages for you to enjoy. You will also find complimentary reusable water bottles, a bottle of Alisal Ranch wine, coffee and tea. In keeping with our authentic Western tradition, our rooms do not have phones or TV’s. House phones are located throughout the property as indicated with a phone icon on our property map and wifi is available throughout the ranch.

What amenities are in the room?

Your gratuities and amenities (except for Spa treatments) are included as part of the 22 % Ranch Fee. This Ranch Fee both helps offset the cost of various amenities made available to guests of the Alisal Ranch and funds additional compensation to the employees who provide service to our guests. The amenities provided include two branded water canteens, a bottle of wine in each room, Wi-Fi internet access, use of the fitness center, a shuttle to Solvang, bikes, scheduled and seasonal entertainment, tennis court use, fishing bait and tackle, use of non-motorized boats at Alisal Lake, and various children&#8217;s activities, including the barnyard and kid’s arts and crafts. Part of the Ranch Fee is distributed to our service employees as additional compensation to address the need for tipping at the Ranch.

Are gratuities included?

The Alisal offers an array of complimentary activities for youngin’s and the whole family. There are cuddly critter activities in the barnyard, children’s lead around pony rides, arts and crafts, family bingo, karaoke, and kids club, plus plenty of other no extra-charge, fun stuff, you won’t want to miss! Being out in the country, guests seem to work up a big appetite, so our standard nightly rate includes breakfast and dinner, (although we have other packages available depending on the time of year.) Our meals are hearty, tasty and feature the freshest local ingredients. We understand that you may have special dietary needs. Our menus are designed with you in mind. Many of our dishes can be made gluten-free, vegetarian, nut-free and dairy-free. In addition to our delicious meals beverages are also be included in the room rate. Beer, wine, standard well drinks, smoothies, sodas, premium coffee drinks are no extra. So, come thirsty, we have you covered!

We can’t wait to welcome you with a big “howdy!” Be on the lookout for an email from our Ranch Concierge roughly 45 days prior to your arrival. Your personal Concierge is here to assist you with booking activities, answering questions you may have about your trip, and putting together your itinerary. This process can simply be booking dinner times or the Concierge can be as involved as you would like in planning your trip.

To confirm your reservation, a two-night advance deposit is required. Advance deposits are refundable, (minus a 10% of deposit transaction fee per room), if cancelled at least 60 days prior to your arrival date. Your full deposit amount is non-refundable for cancellations or changes made within 60 days prior to your arrival.
